Evanston will build a new 36 inch pipe line to supply water to Skokie. The population of Skokie has increased from 14,000 in 1950 to 33,000 in 1955. Skokie will build a new 5 million gallon water tower to be supplied by the new main . . . East Moline has recently adopted the municipal utility tax, authorized by the recent session of the Illinois General Assembly.

Trenton, $250,000 general obligation for sewer and water system improvements . . . West Chicago, $269,000 general obligation for improvements to sewer and water system . . . Mechanicsburg, $18,000 bond issue for waterworks system . . . Toledo, $75,000 general obligation for a village sewer system . . . Ottawa, $1,000,000 general obligation issue for sewage disposal plant and intercepting sewer system.

East Moline, $300,000 general obligation for construction of a new municipal building.

John E. Hartley to be traffic engineer, Springfield. He formerly was assistant traffic engineer for the City of Detroit, Michigan . . . Neil Reidel has been appointed Village Clerk of Lake Villa succeeding Carl W. Reinebach who resigned after 28 years of service because of ill health.
