KAY KASTEL FOREST

SOCIETY NOTES

By Kay Kastel Forest

It is time to make your reservations for the Illinois Park & Recreation Conference, November 20-23. The Conference Committee has planned an excellent, educational program for you. (See pages 13-24.) Remember that pre-registration is due by November 1.

There are two pre-conference workshops planned for Thursday. The first is for office personnel (secretaries, office managers, etc.); the second for administrators, supervisors, or managers. A special registration with the IPRS office is necessary. The form is located in the Advance Conference Program.

The preliminary report of the task force has been given to the Board. The final report and recommendations on the goals and new structure of IPRS will be presented to the membership in a special session on Friday at 10:15 a.m. at the conference. The results of the membership survey will be available at that time.

The results of the special IPRS election have been counted and Chuck Paxton will take over the duties of President-elect. He will assume the duties of IPRS President at the conference.

In October all voting members will receive ballots for the 1976 IPRS officers and board members. Due to a change in the constitution which provides for staggering 2-year terms, only half of the board member positions will be listed on the ballot. The other half of the board members will relinquish their positions next year. It is important that all members return their ballots and become involved in the operation of IPRS.

1976 IPRS dues should be paid before November 1, 1975.

All voting members and subscribing members will receive an invoice. Please return the top of the invoice with your check. Students must complete new applications which will be available at their schools.

We are in need of quality articles for the magazine. Let's hear from you now.

See you next month!
