Triarco Arts & Crafts, Wheeling, Illinois, has introduced an exclusive new process for duplicating metal enameling and ceramic glaze effects WITHOUT A KILN. Known as Un-Namels®, the special ground plastic colors, which resemble traditional powder metal enamels or ceramic glazes, are non-toxic. Un-Namels® can be fired onto almost any clean, grease-free surface that can stand a temperature of 200° to 250° Farenheit—aluminum, glass, steel, thin wood, etc. Use a regular kitchen oven, electric frying pan, toaster oven, candle or even light bulb to fire Un-Namels®. After firing colors become permanent, bright and chip resistant. The ease of use and the fact that special equipment is not necessary enable small projects to be completed for just pennies by all age groups without training.

Triarco offers a complete Un-Namel® Starter Kit and Group Pack. Inquiries should be sent to Triarco Arts & Crafts, Inc., 110 W. Carpenter Ave., Wheeling, Ill.

NEW TENNIS COURT FLOODLIGHTING

The Village of Lincolnwood, Illinois was named recipient of the Chicago Lighting Institute's 1974 Merit Award for an outstanding Lighting installation for Tennis Courts at Proesel Park.

The Lighting system designed by Wallace W. Weld, Outdoor Lighting Consultant of Northbrook, Ill. It is the result of an intensive study of many tennis courts. This system produces the best results for the players so that they can see the tennis ball as it approaches at speeds in excess of 100 miles per hour. The use of interior horizontal louvers along with a predetermined set of aiming angles and aiming points for the floodlights has developed a practically glare free installation. These louvers also cut off the stray light so that the homes in the area are not subject to direct glare. This is a distinct factor in preserving the homelike atmosphere in the residential areas.

The floodlights are circuited so that coin meters control the lighting of the individual courts. This conserves energy as the lights are only turned on when they are in use. The floodlights produce 30 footcandles maintained which is the requirement for tournament or professional play. The Chicago Lighting Institute called the installation outstanding in visual performance. This system will become a National Recommended Standard for the floodlighting of Outdoor Tennis Courts.
