Her speech entitled, "Smile, You're On" will show you how to put your best foot forward in dealing with the general public. Advanced registration is necessary.

A special Park Operations Workshop is set up as part of the regular conference program. It will be held Friday, November 21 from 8:45 A.M. through 12 Noon. Designed especially for park maintenance foremen and supervisors, the workshop will be a rap session on the basics of park operations including electrical systems, lighting fixtures, electronic ignition systems, emission controls, and innovative use of equipment. In order to attend, park operations personnel must register either through their agency or at the door for the daily rate. This is the first time this type of session will be held and all agencies are urged to send their personnel.

DANCES

The Thursday evening Social Mixer will be a nostalgic treat for all who remember the music and dances of the 50's and 60's from the first jitterbug, to the twist, pony, stomp, and rock-and-roll. The JADE 50's will play all your old favorites and will also present a completely costumed and choreographed Las Vegas type show complete with dance contests. Admission is free and a cash bar will be available. All delegates are urged to attend this pre-conference "kick off."

Friday evening's All Conference Dance will feature Chicago's most professionally crisp, adaptable orchestra under the direction of Dick Sarlo, a talented entertainer. The band has an easy swinging relaxed feel that makes its music eminently danceable and satisfying to the listener. It will be a relaxing evening after a thought-provoking day. Admission is only $1.00 per person and a cash bar will be available.

LUNCHEON AND BANQUET

Mr. James Weigand, Administrative Assistant to the President of Indiana University and member of Science Education, will be the keynote speaker at the Friday all-conference luncheon. His speech will stimulate the delegates to think about some of the upcoming problems facing the park, recreation and leisure field.

The Saturday evening all-conference banquet will be highlighted by a visit from Abe Lincoln. Keeping with the Bicentennial theme of the banquet, Mr. Basil Moore, a long time student of the wit and philosophy of Abe Lincoln, will provide a truly provocative evening of entertainment.
