VILLAGE ADMINISTRATOR

Due to a recent retirement, the Village of Lake in the Hills is seeking a Village Administrator. Lake in the Hills is located in McHenry County, Illinois. Its three square miles has a population of nearly 6,000 people, based on the 1980 census.

It has a full time Police Department with eleven employees and a Public Works Department with four employees. The Village Hall staff is managed by the Village Clerk.

The Village Administrator's position was created two years ago with three key responsibilities: financial planning, commercial and industrial growth and grant procurement. These continue to be priorities for this position, in addition to standard administrative responsiblities.

Applicants should have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field. A background in finance, public administration or business administration would be helpful. The new Administrator must be able to interact with the Village Board and current staff, in addition to providing service to citizens.

The Administrator will be routinely involved in ordinance preparation, insurance claims, developer negotiations, airport administration, regulatory interaction, contractor negotiations, planning, investments and special projects as assigned.

Applicants with skills that can help strengthen Lake in the Hills growth position and financial trend should consider this a challenging position.

Starting salary $22,000-$25,000, plus insurance benefits, with a review in six months. Successful applicant must have appointment confirmed by the Village Board. VILLAGE MANAGER

The Village of Freeburg, Illinois, (pop. 3,000) is looking for a Village Manager to be the chief administrative officer of the Village. The manager shall be responsible to the Village President and Board of Trustees. Applicants should have a degree in Public Administration and/or at least 5 years experience.
