Janet M. Vaught, Carbondale City Clerk, has been elected Vice President of the Municipal Clerks of Illinois, a statewide organization of over 650 city, village and township clerks. The election was held October 26 at the MCI annual meeting in Chicago. Appointed City Clerk in 1979, Mrs. Vaught is a Registered Municipal Clerk, Certified Municipal Clerk and a member of the elite International Institute of Municipal Clerks Academy for Advanced Education.
