Whether at work or play, IAPD and IPRA effectively spread the message about recreational pursuits and the leisure profession. IPRA President Tom Richardson and IAPD President Bonnie Noble chatted with Sox catcher Carleton Fisk during a special outing to Comiskey Park this summer.

This past year has been one of many "firsts" and successes for our Associations.

1985 marked the first time that our entire legislative platform became law. This success was achieved because of your grassroots efforts to communicate our message to State legislators and Governor Thompson.

This was also the year that our long awaited Joint Membership Directory became a reality. The Leisure Review newsletter celebrated its first anniversary and the IPR magazine expanded its content and format.

These, and the many other successes we enjoyed, would not have been possible without your commitment and hard work. Presidents Bonnie Noble and Tom Richardson, and the IAPD and IPRA board members, should also be congratulated for their efforts.

We look ahead to 1986 with the attitude that the year will bring more rewards to the park, recreation and conservation movement in Illinois.

goals in 1985? See pages 27-30.
