The AFW Company of North America manufactures a movable swimming pool floor. The floor is made of reinforced concrete and carries a lifetime guarantee. The floor is raised on a hydraulic lift ram, like raising a car in a garage. When the movable floor has been brought to deck level, it becomes a pool cover. It's an energy and chemical saver providing 100 percent safety when the pool is unattended.

The AFW movable floor can be used as all-purpose game and exercise rooms.

The movable floor permits any water depth by the push of a button. However, the most exciting advantage of the floor is that, when brought to deck level, it converts the natatorium to an all-purpose room, game room, exercise room or a swimming pool in less than five minutes. Any activity normally conducted in a family or game room can be conducted on the AFW movable swimming pool floor.

The floor also has a varied depth capability. This allows swimming instruction for preschoolers, the disabled, senior citizens and competitive swimmers.

AFW has marketed more than 700 pools with movable floors in 18 countries. These include the game pools at the 1972 Munich, 1976 Montreal and the upcoming 1988 Korea Olympic games. The movable floors have also been marketed in private homes, colleges, universities, YMCAs, centers for the disabled, cities, parks and recreation agencies.

Additional information is available from AFW at the Exchange Bank Building, Suite 311, 201 N. Union St., Olean, NY 14760. Phone (716) 372-2935.

The pool floor is lowered so disabled clients can float from their shower chairs.
