Carey's review of Wills' Reagan: help in the wilderness

Editor: James Carey, in his review of Garry Wills' Reagan's America: Innocents at Home (July, II), does Wills the great service of further illuminating the themes of an already provocative, insightful book. Wills' book, and Carey's review, cause the careful reader to stand back from the Reagan presidency with the enthusiasm of an explorer who has just found his way out of the wilderness. And what a wilderness it has been!

Bravo for giving the stage to Carey, and cheers all around for your overall excellence.
