Illinois Department of
Commerce and Community
Affairs Announce
New Booklets

Three new booklets, designed to assist organizations in developing self-employment training programs, are available from the Department of Commerce and Community Affairs (DCCA), Illinois' chief economic development agency.

The booklets, published as part of DCCA's continuing effort to promote local entrepreneurship training programs, address common questions faced when planning, developing and implementing self-employment programs to train entrepreneurs for successful business start-up and survival.

Self-Employment Training Programs: Case Studies describes training programs at the local, state and national levels; some possible sources of financing for entrepreneurship programs, and typical small business management certificate and degree programs available through community colleges which support this effort.

Organizing Self-Employment Programs is a handbook for organizations which may wish to provide self-employment training in their communities. This handbook aids in program planning, preparation, development and follow-up.

Entrepreneurship Education Materials is a brief bibliography of resources designed to assist entrepreneurship teachers and trainers, as well as the businesses their clients start.

Copies of these publications or further information may be obtained by contacting DCCA's Office of Urban Assistance, 620 E. Adams, Fifth Floor, Springfield, IL 62701, phone (217) 785-6134. •
