The Illinois Fire Chiefs' Association Educational Foundation is pleased to announce its 1989 Scholarship Competition. This program is open to any resident of the State of Illinois. Although this program is aimed at members of the Fire Service of the State, it is not limited to it.

This grants program is designed to assist individuals desiring to further their academic background, through attendance in courses in topics related to the Fire Service, either College or Certification. The 1989 grants range in amounts up to $1,000.00

This grants program is made possible by the generosity of various donors and activities conducted by the Illinois Fire Chiefs Association. Through this program, this Foundation hopes to aid those desiring to further themselves, and in doing so, further the Fire Service of the State of Illinois.

Patricia Ehrhart, City Clerk, City of Neoga, Illinois and Eva M. Rodgers, City Clerk, City of Aurora, Illinois, have been awarded the designation of "Certified Municipal Clerk" (CMC) from the International Institute of Municipal Clerks (IIMC) for achieving its high educational, experience, and service requirements . . .

Ms. Colleen Pasting, CMC/AAE, Village Clerk of the Village of Mundelein, Illinois, has been accepted into the IIMC Academy for Advanced Education of the International Institute of Municipal Clerks. The Academy is the professional body of municipal clerks who have continued their high level of educational achievement beyond the attainment of the prestigious Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) Award . . .

The Illinois Association of Water Pollution Control Operators will hold its 54th Annual Conference April 17-20, 1989 at the Holiday Inn East Exhibition and Convention Center, Springfield, Illinois. The 3 1/2 day conference includes a 2 1/2 day technical program with emphasis on wastewater treatment plant operation and maintenance, a first day activated sludge process control workshop, equipment exhibition, spouse's program and IAWPCO plant and operator-of-the-year awards.
