ENVIRONMENT AND ECONOMIC
DEVELOPMENT CONFERENCE

The Departments of Conservation, Commerce and Community Affairs, the City of Decatur, and Decatur-Macon County Clean Community System are sponsoring the conference, ENVIRONMENT AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT on Thursday and Friday, March 16 and 17, 1989 at the Holiday Inn in Decatur Illinois.

This conference will be of interest to municipal officials, engineers, planners, urban foresters and citizens. Following a banquet dinner on Thursday awards will be presented to communities receiving Tree City USA designation and to community groups receiving Illinois Clean and Beautiful Awards.

The Keynote speaker is Don Willeke, a Director of the American Forestry Association, Chairman of the Minnesota Shade Tree Advisory Committee, and a Director of the American Chestnut Foundation. Technical sessions will focus on the economics of beautification, forestry, recycling, and Illinois' new solid waste laws.
