SEWER AND WATER SUPERINTENDENT The City of Elgin, Illinois (population 69,000), located 37 miles northwest of Chicago, operates under the Council/Manager form of government. Duties involve supervision of crews of workers engaged in sewer lateral maintenance, catch basin and manhole repair, construction and maintenance of water mains and services, storm sewer catch basins, sewer manholes, snow plowing, salting and removal operation, keeps records and assists with the preparation of annual budget. The selected individual will have four years of college with three years of supervisory experience in sewer and/or water maintenance, including two years of responsible supervisory experience, or two years of college with five years of supervisory experience, including three years of responsible supervisory experience.
