CHIEF OF POLICE

VILLAGE ENGINEER

The Village of Lake Bluff (population 5,500) is currently accepting applications for the newly created position of Village Engineer. The Village Engineer reports to the Village Administrator and is the department head responsible for all aspects of the Village of Lake Bluff's engineering operations including design, preparation and supervision of contract documents, supervision of all infrastructure improvements, coordination of projects with outside agencies, management of the Village's consulting engineer, contact with the public and presentation of technical material to the Village Board of Trustees and other boards and commissions. ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT/
COMMUNITY RELATIONS SPECIALIST

CIVIL ENGINEER

ASSISTANT DIRECTOR
OF PUBLIC WORKS

Supervisory and administrative work involving the direction of the activities of the Street, Sewer, Nuisance Abatement Division of the Public Works Department. The Assistant Director of Public W orks is responsible for the supervision of employees engaged in maintenance and repair work to municipal streets, alleys, sidewalks, and related street property. Supervision of the operation and maintenance of the wastewater collection system. The position emphasizes the effective coordination and control of work crews and includes responsibility for scheduling and assigning work tasks, ordering of equipment and supplies (within the guidelines established by the City Council, City of Alton, Illinois), maintaining supply and equipment inventories, planning and operating necessary-training and safety programs and personnel administration of the Division, including administration of the employee evaluation system. These activities are carried out under the general supervision of the Director of Public Works. Qualifications include a minimum of eight years supervisory experience in the Municipal Public Works field, to include streets and street repair, and the wastewater collection system.
