STAFF PLANNER

Village of Northbrook, IL, population 33,206, seeks a highly motivated individual to fill a Senior Planning position reporting to the Director of Development. Key responsibilities are the administration and interpretation of the Zoning and Subdivision Codes for the processing and evaluation of land use petitions, creation and maintenance of long-range plans, code conformance reviews and planning consultant to the Plan Commission and Board of Trustees. BUILDING COMMISSIONER

The Village of Morton Grove, Illinois (population 24,000) is accepting applications for the position of Building Commissioner. This is a Department Head position appointed by the Mayor with approval by the Board of Trustees who is responsible to the Village Administrator on a day to day basis. Starting salary for the position is $42,000 to $46,000 depending upon qualifications with excellent fringe benefits. Applicants must be a registered architect, or registered structural engineer in the State of Illinois, or be able to obtain registration within twelve months of employment, or have had ten years or more experience in an architectural, engineering or construction supervisory capacity. Relevant building code enforcement experience in a local government agency is highly desirable and may be substituted for other work experience. The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge of building and related codes; architectural plan review processes; and a working knowledge of zoning, subdivision and related land use regulations. The position is responsible for supervising all building and related technical code activities as well as property maintenance, commercial sign and related code enforcement activities. Also responsible for overseeing building maintenance on village owned facilities.
