1989 Illinois Municipal Treasurers Institute and Advanced Seminar

The annual Illinois Municipal Treasurers Institute was held September 24-28 at the Mattoon Holiday Inn. The Institute was coordinated by the School of Adult and Continuing Education at Eastern Illinois University. EIU has approval from the Municipal Treasurers Association of the United States and Canada to offer a certification course. The certification program requires that the treasurer experience 100 hours of instruction which is provided over a period of 3 years.

In addition, 23 treasurers entered phase I and 11 treasurers returned for phase II.

The Advanced Seminar was held in conjunction with the Institute. It is for treasurers who have completed the Institute and need to fulfill additional education requirements to maintain certification. Twenty-three treasurers attended the Advanced Seminar. •
