DIRECTOR OF FINANCE

The City of North Chicago is seeking well qualified applicants for the position of Director of Finance. This person shall have charge of administering the financial affairs of the city, subject to the control of the Mayor and the City Council. This position will be responsible for preparing an annual budget, appropriation and tax levy ordinances. Conduct specific studies and investigations into financial affairs of the departments and offices. Supervise and be responsible for the disbursement of all monies and have control over all expenditures, examine all contracts, purchase orders and other documents, by which financial obligations are incurred. Submit to the Mayor and City Council, a quarterly statement of all receipts and disbursements. Prepare, at the end of each fiscal year, a complete financial statement and report. Keep records pertaining to the collection of monies on special assessments and special taxes. Make such reports, regarding delinquent special assessments, as are required by statute. Candidates should have a Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business Administration or Accounting, and have at least four year's experience in accounting or financial management, one year of which must have been in a supervisory capacity. A Master's Degree or related degree and extensive experience in a public agency, may fill the job requirements. Salary Range: Based on experience and education.

CHIEF OF POLICE

The Village of Wilmette, Illinois (pop. 28,000) is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Police Chief. The Police Department was accredited in 1986 and is preparing for reaccreditation in 1991. The Department is comprised of 42 sworn officers and 18 non-sworn personnel and has a budget of $3.1 million. Current Police Chief is retiring after 25 years of service. SENIOR CIVIL ENGINEER

ZONING ENFORCEMENT OFFICER

CHIEF OF POLICE
