VILLAGE ADMINISTRATOR
The Village of Forsyth, Illinois (pop. 1,400) is seeking applications to fill a new full-time Village Administrator's position. The Village Administrator will be responsible to the President and Board of Trustees for the administration and operation of all affairs and departments of the Village including co-ordinating efforts with the Clerk, Treasurer, Librarian and a public works staff of four. PLANNING DIRECTOR
The Tri-County Regional Planning Commission seeks Director of Planning to administer regional programs, including the planning programs for Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) serving the Peoria urbanized area. Position provides administrative and technical direction for development of short and long-range planning program development, monitoring of planning budget and supervision of the staff and its projects and assignments. Position requires good communication skills to be used in working with elected officials and citizen groups, along with knowledge of transportation and land use planning programs. Experience in the use of microcomputers, particularly CIS and database programs, is required. Qualifications include a bachelor's degree in planning, engineering, or a related field and a minimum of five years experience in the administration of comprehensive planning. Salary range is from $43,000 to $48,000, plus excellent benefit package. Starting salary depends on qualifications. Apply by February 15, 1991.

ASSISTANT ENGINEER
The Greater Peoria Sanitary District is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Assistant Engineer. The successful candidate should have extensive experience in the design, construction and contract administration of sewage collection systems. Graduation from a college or university with a degree in civil or sanitary engineering and qualification for or a holder of a Professional Engineer's registration in the State of Illinois is required.

CHIEF OF POLICE

FIRE CHIEF
The City of Macomb, Illinois is soliciting applications for the position of Fire Chief. The deadline for submitting applications- is January 31, 1991. The Fire Chief oversees all departmental operations. The current salary is approximately $33,000. The department's annual budget is $700,000; it includes 21 uniformed personnel. Qualified applicants must have at least nine (9) years fire fighting experience in a full-time paid capacity, three (3) years of which shall have been in a supervisory capacity.

SUPERVISORY FOREMAN
Public Services Department Ideal candidate will have minimum of three (3) years experience in supervising a team in pavement repair; snow removal operations; truck and equipment operation, and other municipal services and maintenance programs. Candidates will be responsible for planning, directing, motivating and supervising teams and individuals to meet performance goals established by the department. The work involves the performance of duties of considerable difficulty, in varying conditions, circumstances and times, and is reviewed for progress and conformance to established standards by the department superintendent. Technical training in pavement maintenance, snow removal, basic drainage proposals and cost-effective planning are required. Strong communication, supervisory and assertiveness skills are necessary to execute departmental goals. Excellent opportunity and benefit package. ASSISTANT TO THE DIRECTOR OF FINANCE
The Village of Algonquin, a rapidly growing community with a present estimated population of about 13,000, is seeking an assistant to the Director of Finance. Responsibilities include general accounting, payroll, investment management, insurance management purchasing, and related municipal financial operations. CITY MANAGER
(New Position)
The City of Collinsville, Illinois (population 21,000) is seeking to hire its first City Manager. The individual sought must have the qualifications and management skills necessary to effect the transition from a commission form of government to a council/manager type. Strong emphasis will be placed on management skills and style, oral and written communications, personality and leadership qualities. Relative experience should include centralizing services (i.e. accounting, personnel, purchasing, etc.), the development of economic and community programs, establishing long range capital improvement projects necessary to improve the overall infrastructure of the community plus the ability to bring stability to this new system of operation. DIRECTOR OF PLANNING & DEVELOPMENT
The City of Harvey (population 35,000), 18 miles south-west of Chicago, is seeking a Director of Planning &: Development. The selected candidate will report to the mayor or designee. Will be accountable to the city council, plan commission, zoning board of appeals and the citizens of Harvey. General statement of duties: In charge of all administrative decision-making within the department, including all personnel policies and procedures. Acts as the building and zoning official and enterprise zone administrator for the city. Oversees all planning, housing and economic development activities for the city. Distinguishing features of the class: A position of central importance to the functioning of the city, requiring excellent administrative and communication skills. Entails frequent public appearance and media exposure. Works on a regular cooperative basis with council members and department heads. Examples of work: Authorizes issuance of building permits, and business licenses; prepares monthly and yearly reports of departmental activities; issues special use permits, zoning map and text amendments upon authorization of the plan commission; issues zoning variances upon authorization of the zoning board of appeals; keeps plan commission and zoning board informed of departmental activities and makes recommendations on cases of controversies coming before each body; represents the department at all interdepartmental meetings and bi-weekly administrative and city council meetings; makes final departmental interpretation of building and zoning codes, resolutions and ordinances. Required knowledge, skills and abilities: Requires detailed knowledge of the standard methods and techniques of city planning. Special skills or training may be required to adequately manage some technical projects or programs, for which the Director may be expected to take additional training at the City of Harvey's expense. Acceptable experience skills and training: A Master's degree in urban planning, public administration, business or related degree program plus ten years progressively responsible experience in the field, including staff supervision of 5 or more persons. Prior local government experience is desirable. Residency within the city is required within one year of employment. Salary: $35,000.00-$40,000.00.
