BUILDING COMMISSIONER
The Village of Orland Hills, Illinois (population 5, 600), seeks a Building Commissioner. This department head position, under the direction of the Village Administrator, is responsible for supervising municipal code enforcement relating to planning, building and zoning, and includes issuance of building permits, plan reviews, code enforcement, field inspections and contractor licensing. This position deals with the public on a daily basis to interpret technical codes and provide guidance regarding various village and state regulatory codes. The Building Commissioner acts as liaison to the Plan Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals. Qualifications include a minimum of three years experience in the building and planning field, thorough knowledge of approved methods and materials used in building construction and background in the areas of zoning planning, code enforcement, engineering and/or architecture knowledge of BOCA, National Electric Codes, State Plumbing Codes, State Handicapped Codes, Cook County Health Codes, and CABO codes. Excellent oral and written communication skills. EOE. Salary range is $31, 000 to $36, 000.

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR
The City of Pekin, a central Illinois community, is seeking a Community Development Coordinator. This individual will report to the Director of Public Works. A bachelor's degree is required, with a minimum of 4 years experience in community development responsibilities. He/she will have specific responsibilities for the administration of Pekin's Community Development Block Grant (HUD), Enterprise Zone, Tax Increment Financing, and Economic Development Financial Assistance Program. This position is available immediately. Salary is commensurate with qualifications.
