PLANNING DIRECTOR

City of Rolla, MO (14,090). Responsibilities include review of applications for zoning changes, special use permits and land subdivision. POLICE COMMANDER

The Village of Wheeling, Illinois (population 30,000), a progressive and growing community in northwest suburban Chicago, seeks a dynamic individual to assume the duties of Police Commander in the Field Services Division of the Police Department. This sworn, exempt rank will report directly to the Deputy Chief of Police, Field Services Division. The Police Department, recently accredited, currently employs one Chief, two Deputy Chiefs, eight sergeants, 39 sworn officers, and 20 non-sworn support staff, and has a current budget in excess of 3.4 million. TRI-COUNTY REGIONAL PLANNING COMMISSION PLANNER I (Entry Level)

$17,948-$20,900, dependent upon qualifications. The Tri-County Regional Planning Commission serves Peoria, Tazewell and Woodford Counties along the Illinois River. The Commission is seeking a highly motivated individual to join a planning team involved in metropolitan as well as regional planning issues. The position's main focus would be to plan with and coordinate the region's mass transportation providers. Duties would include developing and coordinating an implementation plan for the Americans with Disabilities Act, schedule and route analysis, assist in developing a regionalized Transit Study along with other planning activities. Requires a bachelors degree with major course work in planning or transportation planning. PERSONNEL DIRECTOR

Village of Streamwood, Illinois (pop. 31,000) is seeking to fill newly created position of Personnel Director. Responsibilities include development and administration of state-of-the-art personnel management system, conducting labor management relations and contract administration, wage and benefit administration, and recruitment and selection. Position assists Police and Fire Commission and Civil Service Commission. Under general direction of Village Manager, individual will serve as chief negotiator and will manage and coordinate collective bargaining efforts. Successful applicant will have demonstrated: ability to express ideas effectively orally and in writing, considerable knowledge of principles and practices of modern public personnel administration as well as public sector collective bargaining including interest and grievance arbitration, labor management relations and Public Employee Labor Relations Acts. Qualifications include: Possession of bachelors degree in public or business administration, political science, personnel administration or related field; prefer a master's degree; five years experience in public administration, three years must have been in personnel administration. FIRE MARSHAL

DUTIES: The Fire Marshal is responsible for a staff of 21 full-time fire fighters, 6 contracted paramedics and 12 paid on call and volunteers.
