Executive Director of public-private economic development corporation for Belvidere and Boone County, Illinois. Duties: Continuing development and implementation of established, comprehensive economic development and marketing program; administration of the Belvidere-Boone County Enterprise zone; and the development and implementation of business attraction and retention programs. Experience in financial packaging and tax increment financing a plus. Position requires a master's degree in public or business administration, planning, marketing, or related field. Two years experience in economic development desired. Additional experience may be substituted for a master's degree. Salary is commensurate with background and experience.

PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR

The Village of Huntley (population 2,453) is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Public Works Director. This is a department head position which oversees the Village's public works operations consisting of streets, underground utilities, water distribution system, sewage treatment plant, and building and grounds. Considerable knowledge of potable water and wastewater utility operations, including statutory requirements; thorough knowledge of street repair and maintenance operations; knowledge of municipal government operations, including budgeting required. Illinois EPA Water and/or sewer certification desirable. Previous experience as Public Works Director, Assistant Public Works Director or Division Head desired. Salary $34,000 to $38,000.

CITY ATTORNEY

The City of Moline (population: 45,000) seeks an experienced attorney with a wide variety of complex professional duties which include providing services for all departments and governmental bodies of the city. Moline is one of the "Quad Cities" located on the Mississippi River. The ideal candidate will have several years of progressively responsible professional legal experience, preferably including municipal government practice. The abilities required include planning and supervising the work of staff, speaking effectively in court and before public groups and establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with employees, officials and the general public. DIRECTOR OF COMMUNICATIONS

DuPage Public Safety Communications (DU-COMM) is seeking a person who has a proven track record in combined public safety dispatch operations to serve as its new Director of Communications. This position requires an individual with strong technical, interpersonal, organizational and leadership skills. DU-COMM is located in DuPage County, Illinois, approximately 30 miles west of downtown Chicago. DU-COMM handles over 1,000 calls for service each day through its E-911 system and services 27 municipal police and fire departments which serve an estimated total population of 475,000. The salary range for this position is in the mid-50s, depending upon qualifications. Applicants should have a four-year degree in public administration, telecommunications or a related field plus seven to ten years of progressively responsible experience in public safety telecommunications, including at least three years in a supervisory or command capacity. Consideration will be given to persons who possess an equivalent combination of experience, training and education. Apply by March 1, 1992. It is expected that final candidate evaluation will be completed by April 15, 1992, and that a new Director will be appointed on or about May 1, 1992.

FINANCE DIRECTOR

The Village of Romeoville (population 14,064) is seeking a Finance Director to direct the financial activities of the Village by coordinating revenues and expenditures, controlling purchasing and expenditures, administering complex accounting systems, and determining investment strategies. The Finance Director reports directly to the Village Manager. Applicants should have a Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or other closely related field and five (5) year progressively responsible municipal finance experience as an assistant finance director or finance director. The Finance Director shall be expected to reside within the community within one year after employment. The salary range for this position is $37,605 to $47,995 with an excellent benefit package.
