WATER SUPERINTENDENT

The City of Mt. Carmel (pop. 8,274) is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Water Superintendent. Responsibilities include: management of Surface Water Treatment Plant and water production, operation and maintenance of Water Distribution System and Wastewater Collection System, long-range facility and maintenance planning and supervision of personnel and related functions. Must possess a State of Illinois Class "A" Water Operators license or obtain the same within six (6) months and a Class 4 Wastewater Operators license or comparable wastewater collection experience and/or certification.

VILLAGE ENGINEER

Village of Bartlett (population 20,000) is seeking to fill the newly created position of Village Engineer. Responsible for drainage, reviews, assisting with issues pertaining to planning, design, and construction, plan reviews, building permit reviews, and public contact. Candidates should possess good communication skills, and some project management experience. Minimum requirements include BSCE, an EIT Certificate, and two to three years progressively responsible professional experience in municipal engineering, with potential for securing P.E. or equivalent. Salary range $34,000 to $42,000.

PUBLIC WORKS SUPERINTENDENT

Village of Peotone (pop. 3,000), is accepting applications for the position of Public Works Superintendent to supervise employees engaged in village maintenance including streets, water and sewer operations. DIRECTOR OF BUILDING AND ZONING

BUILDING INSPECTOR

The City of McHenry is accepting applications for the position of Building Inspector. Yearly salary begins at $24,236.00. Duties include: plan review, field inspection, and permit issuance for new building construction and renovation in compliance with building codes and related ordinances. ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS

The Village of Sidney will receive sealed bids for the following public property remaining from the abandonment of the Village Water Treatment Plant: One (1) Induced Draft Aerator, manufactured by Tonka Equipment Co. The unit is rated for 160 gallons per minute (GPM), has a 4" flanged inlet and was shipped to the Village new in 1984. The unit is designed for the removal of iron and dissolved gases. It is constructed of 3/16" aluminum and is equipped with eight sets of redwood trays in good condition, a removable access panel, a 560 CFM, 1/2 lip blower operating on 220 volt, single phase power. The internals of the unit were last inspected and cleaned in December 1991. All bids shall be delivered or mailed to: The Village of Sidney, Village Hall, 221 South David Street, Sidney, IL 61877, until the closing time of 7:00 P.M., prevailing time, Monday, March 2, 1992. At that time all bids will be publicly read aloud. Bids received after the closing time will not be accepted and will be returned unopened. Bids sent by mail should be marked on the outside of the envelope as follows: "Sealed Bid for Induced Draft Aerator." Bids shall be submitted on the bidder's standard letterhead or form. The Village of Sidney intends to award to the highest responsive, responsible bidder, however, the Village of Sidney reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any informalities in bidding. No bid shall be withdrawn after the opening of bids without the consent of the Village, for a period of ninety (90) calendar days. The successful bidder shall initiate removal of the aerator and provide payment for the aerator within sixty (60) calendar days of receipt of Notice of Award. Failure to initiate such actions within such time will constitute non-responsiveness of the bidder, the Village will award to the next highest bidder if the successful bidder proves to be non-responsive. Payment shall be in the form of a cashier's cheek, bank draft, or certified check made payable to: "The Village of Sidney, Illinois." The bidder shall be responsible tor removing the aerator from its foundation and shall provide for transportation of the aerator from the plant site. The Village extends no warranty or guarantee on these materials and the bidder agrees to accept the materials "as-is."

City of Evanston. Salary $30,408 to $37,524. Civilian responsible for supervision of Bureau; trains, schedules, evaluates staff; insures compliance with federal and state laws and local ordinances relative to processing and maintaining records, and police policy including Uniform Crime Reporting procedures; supervises collection, submission, retention of fingerprints, photographs, recovered property and evidence; issues taxicab operator's licenses; prepares variety of complex records and reports.
