DIRECTOR OF ENHANCED 9-1-1 SERVICES

The QuadCom Regional Emergency Communications Network is seeking a Director to manage its enhanced 9-1-1 PSAP Center. QuadCom is responsible for Police and Fire dispatching for five police agencies and three fire agencies, located approximately 35 miles west of Chicago. The director is responsible for managing the operations of the system, as well as its 12 full time and 2 part time employees. The position requires ability to perform administrative, managerial/supervisory and system management/maintenance duties, as well as a working knowledge of the Enhanced 9-1-1 operations, computer aided dispatch system and practical experience of dispatching. Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor's Degree in Management of related field, or equivalent experience in the Public Safety environment. General knowledge of bookkeeping, expertise in training, record operations, computers and administration is desirable. The salary range is $42,000 to $52,000 dependent upon experience and qualifications.

DIRECTOR OF RESOURCE MANAGEMENT

County of McHenry, IL (pop. 183,400), located in the northern part of Illinois, is seeking to fill the position of Director, Department of Resource Management. This newly created department and position is a direct result of the recent decision to merge the Planning Department and Building and Zoning Department. Position reports to the McHenry County Planning and Development Committee, and is under the direction of the County Administrator, and will oversee a staff of 32 with an annual budget of approximately $1,000,000. The successful candidate must demonstrate a high level of expertise in the areas of personnel; budget; policy analysis/implementation; and working knowledge regarding issues such as building and zoning, planning, land use, regulations, etc. The position requires a degree in public administration, business administration, urban planning, urban geography, architectural design, urban studies or related field(s) masters preferred. Applicant must have five to seven years experience as head of a medium to large department, additional experience may be considered to replace some educational requirements; have excellent communication skills (oral and written); the ability to interface effectively with elected and appointed County officials, the public and staff; and demonstrate strong leadership abilities. Salary range is $45,000 to $55,000 plus excellent employee benefits.

CIVIL ENGINEER

The Village of Carol Stream is seeking a degreed Civil Engineer for our fast pared Engineering Services Department. Knowledge of engineering principles and standards as applied to municipal engineering is required. The qualified candidate will be able to achieve an Engineer in Training within one year of employment.
