The training is being held at the Chicago Fire Academy, 558 West DeKovan Street, Chicago, Illinois, September 23-25, 1992.

This training is restricted to those persons who are certified by their employer, in accordance with 29 CFR 1910.120 (q), as a hazardous materials technician and/or hazardous materials specialist.

A registration fee of $145.00 per person will be charged. This fee, plus a grant from FEMA V, makes it possible to cover the expenses for the program. Each participant will be responsible for their own transportation to and from Chicago, breakfast and evening meals, and any incidentals they may require. The following expenses will be covered:

1. lodging (room, tax, and parking) at the McCormick Center Hotel on September 23 and 24, 1992,

2. noon lunch at the Chicago Fire Academy, Thursday September 24th,

3. ground transportation between the McCormick Center Hotel and the Chicago Fire Academy,

4. and all course materials.

For those participants who may desire to remain in Chicago Friday and/or Saturday nights, (September 25 and 26), we have made arrangements with the McCormick Center Hotel to offer a special rate of $60.00 per night plus tax and parking (normal rates are $125.00 per night). If they are interested in the hotel's offer, it is the participant's responsibility to contact the hotel (312/791-1900) and guarantee their own accommodations. The participants should advise the hotel they are conference attendees.

The McCormick Center Hotel is located on Lake Shore Drive at 23rd Street, overlooking the Chicago skyline and Lake Michigan. The Hotel is in close proximity to 1-55 and 1-94, Union Station (Amtrak), Meigs Field, and Midway Airport. Taxi, limousine, bus or elevated train provide ground transportation throughout the city.
