Municipal Golf Course Planning Brochure Offered

Municipalities interested in developing golf courses can obtain a brochure highlighting the key steps in planning public golf projects from the American Society of Golf Course Architects.

"The 12-page brochure is an excellent starting point for groups that are interested in building municipal golf courses," said Art Hills, president of the American Society of Golf Course Architects. "It discusses the need for additional golf courses, the cost of an average course, financing options and how much acreage is needed, among other topics."

Also included is information on how a municipality can begin planning a project and assessing demand. Sample financial reports for several courses also are included. The pamphlet is available free from the American Society of Golf Course Architects, 221 N. LaSalle St., Chicago, Ill. 60601. •
