New Production Site For EarthSafe/Convault Aboveground Storage Tanks In Naperville, Illinois

Earth Protection Systems, Inc., an engineering firm committed to providing environmentally safe technology, has begun production of EarthSafe/Convault Aboveground Fuel Tanks in Naperville, Illinois. The Naperville site produces the patented concrete-encased aboveground tanks under license from Convault, Inc. Convault is the leading national producer of fireproof aboveground tanks with over 6500 systems in service. The new production site brings this leading technology to Midwest customers at a time when fire codes have changed to encourage the use of concrete-vaulted aboveground tank design.

The pollution crisis posed by leaking underground fuel tanks has caused businesses and government agencies to consider aboveground tanks as an alternative to underground tanks. The EarthSafe/Convault design has virtually eliminated potential unseen leakage resulting in groundwater contamination as often experienced with underground tanks. The EarthSafe/Convault design is a standard steel tank encased in precast concrete to provide a 2-hour fire protection barrier. These features provide the benefits of pollution protection, regulatory compliance, insurance cost minimization, property value protection, increased productivity and public image enhancement. National fire codes including NFPA, U.F.C. and BOCA have now incorporated this concrete-encased tank design into their standards, and fire marshals have approved this as an acceptable fire-safe storage tank.

Earth Protection Systems, Inc. solves environmental problems with expertise in specialized technologies, design of integrated system solutions, and technical services support. Earth Protection Systems, Inc. has expertise which extends from detailed knowledge of environmental regulations, fire and building codes, and industry practices to the nuts and bolts of equipment and systems. They also provide assistance with permit application preparation for installation. Major customers are industrial, commercial, institutional and governmental facilities that demand environmentally clean and safe fuel and waste oil systems. •
