VILLAGE MANAGER

The Village of Oak Brook (residential population of 9,078 and daytime population of approximately 75,000), located on the eastern edge of DuPage County, is accepting applications for the position of Village Manager. The Manager is the Chief administrative officer in the Village, serving a staff of 135 full-time employees in the Fire, Paramedic, Finance, Police, Library, Engineering, Public Works, Water, Legal and Building Departments, and Sports Core recreational facility. Other areas of responsibility will include budget preparation ($23,000,000 budget includes all funds), labor negotiations, policy implementation, and communication and interaction with the residents of the Village and our rather substantial commercial community. We are looking for excellent people skills, strong understanding of finance, enthusiasm and willingness to work with a highly skilled staff. Innovative solutions for ongoing areas of municipal concern are needed and our successful candidate will have the confidence to look in new directions. NATURAL GAS OPERATOR

The Village of Riverton (population 3,000), located seven miles east of Springfield, seeks an experienced natural gas operator to head the natural gas department. The position requires hands on experience in natural gas distribution and knowledge of ICC rules and regulations. Salary is negotiable depending upon qualifications and experience. CHIEF OF POLICE

The Village of Lake Zurich, population 14,927, is accepting applications for the position of Chief of Police. This appointment is made by the Mayor with concurrence of the Village Board. Excellent salary and benefit package. The Lake Zurich Police Department has 26 full-time officers and 13 civilian personnel. Candidates should possess the following qualifications: Four-year degree in police or public administration and/or management preferred; Graduation from the FBI National Academy, Northwestern University Command and Staff School, the Southern Police Institute Command School, or comparable institution preferred; Minimum of ten years of progressively responsible municipal law enforcement experience, including at least three years in a supervisory or command capacity; strong organizational, administrative, and leadership skills; knowledge of and commitment to progressive principles of policing and police leadership; Excellent verbal/written communications and human relations, knowledge of current police administrative practices, police accreditation process, applicable laws and recent court decisions required; an active interest in community affairs and activities. PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR

The City of Kirksville, MO., a growing progressive community, in northeast Missouri of 17,152. The City is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Public Works Director with responsibilities of water treatment and distribution, wastewater treatment and collection, street and storm sewer maintenance, solid waste management, and fleet maintenance, with an annual budget of $3.4 million dollars. CHIEF INSPECTOR

The Village of Lake Zurich is seeking a qualified person for the position of Chief Inspector. The person selected for this position must be capable of working closely with the Director of Building and Zoning in administering and regulating all phases of building and zoning code enforcement. She/he will be responsible for coordinating inspection activities within the department and must be capable of performing residential, commercial and industrial plan reviews to verify compliance with the adopted codes of the Village. This person must have a minimum of 7 years experience in code enforcement, three years of which must have been in a supervisory position. The individual chosen for this position, in addition to having a high degree of integrity, must have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and the general public.
