This issue of Illinois Parks & Recreation closes out the 1994 Magazine Award nominations. All individuals who have contributed articles for the November/December 1993 through September/October 1994 issues are eligible for this prestigious recognition. An independent panel of judges has been appointed and are in the process of reviewing the articles in various categories. Winners will be announced at the Awards Luncheon, January 28, in conjunction with the state conference.

1994 introduced exciting changes for Illinois Parks & Recreation. Not only was the format altered to make the publication more "reader friendly," but the magazine recently expanded to 60 pages. In addition, an editorial calendar was established for each issue.

The Joint Publications Committee and association staff will continue to research and consider ideas to further improve the magazine. If you are interested in submitting an article, simply call the IAPD office, (217) 523-4554, for manuscript guidelines.

This edition of the magazine focuses on facility management. Thanks to all the individuals who submitted articles, not only for this issue, but for the entire year. Your contributions have added to the success of Illinois Parks & Recreation.
