Ms. Sharon Crabel, CMC/AAE City Clerk/Collector and Town Clerk of the City and Township of Chillicothe, has been accepted as a member in the IIMC Academy for Advanced Education of the International Institute of Municipal Clerks. The Academy is the professional body of municipal clerks who has continued their level of educational achievement beyond the attainment of the prestigious Certified Municipal Clerks Award . . .

The Illinois Municipal League was saddened to learn of the death of Ken McCracken, former Mayor of Amboy (1973-1985 and 1989-1993), on December 4th, 1994. Mr. McCracken served as president of the Northern Illinois Mayor's Association and as an Amboy alderman from 1970-1973 . . .

The League was equally saddened to learn of the death of Orville L. Thome, former Mayor of Rock Falls (1969-1973), on January 13th, 1995. Mr. Thome served as president of the Northern Illinois Mayor's Association and as a member of the Municipal League's Legislative Committee.

Diversity Conference Scheduled For NIU

"Diversity: The Competitive Edge for the Global Market" will be the subject of a one-day conference April 7th at Northern Illinois University. Sessions will cover minority and gender issues in the workplace, addressing the needs of disabled employees, assisting non-English speaking employees and other topics.
