ANALYSTS

The Budget Analysis Division of the Congressional Budget Office is accepting applications for analysts to work in the newly created State and Local Government Cost Estimates Unit. This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in developing CBO's response to requirements under the Unfunded Mandates Reform Act of 1995. The new unit's primary responsibility will be to prepare estimates of the impact of federal legislation on the budgets of state and local governments and Indian tribes. The unit will also perform studies related to such impacts and will provide ongoing support to Congressional committees in the preparation of legislation. Successful candidates will have strong quantitative and analytic skills as well as an ability to communicate complex information concisely and clearly, both orally and in writing. Candidates must have strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work under extreme time pressures. Training and/or experience in state and local finance is desirable. Individuals with an advanced degree in public policy, economics, city and regional planning, or a related field are preferred. Salary will be commensurate with background and experience. TREASURER

The Village of North Riverside is accepting applications tor a part-time Treasurer to perform all financial municipal accounting functions, duties required by law, and any other assignments. Responsibilities include appropriation planning, cash and investment management for Village and Police and Fire Pension Funds, preparation of all required financial reports, and overseeing computer operations. The Village self-administers its employees' benefits and group health program with the Treasurer serving as "authorized agent" and Plan Administrator. It is expected that the successful applicant work an average of sixteen (16) hours per week. Applicants are required to have a minimum of five years experience in municipal finance and possess a degree in accounting, finance, or business administration. The Treasurer will be retained as an independent contractor and compensated at an hourly rate that is subject to negotiations with the successful applicant.

PUBLIC WORKS DEPUTY DIRECTOR OF
ENVIRONMENTAL OPERATIONS

City of Tulsa, OK (Population: 380,000). Salary open DOQ. The position is appointed by/reports to the Director of Public Works and supervises a staff of 600 with a budget of $68 million. He/she is responsible for advanced planning and direction of the water, sewer and solid waste plants; water, stormwater, wastewater systems; environmental monitoring; and industrial pretreatment quality control programs. Must have BS in civil, chemical or environmental engineering and 10 years progressively responsible experience in municipal public works and water/wastewater operations, or equivalent. Must be able to obtain registration as a professional engineer in the State of OK, as well as a Class "A" Water Plant Operator License and a Class "A" Wastewater Plant Operator License.

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR

The Village of Burr Ridge (estimated population 9,000) seeks experienced planner and/or public administration professional to fill the position of Community Development Director. This department head position will be responsible for the hands-on administration and review of all annexation and zoning related requests, as well as all subdivision and building development throughout the Village.
