Lynda Fishel, Mayor of Arcola, is the new president of the Central Illinois Municipal Officials. She replaces B. J. Hackler, Village President of Saint Joseph. .. .

The Illinois Municipal League was saddened to learn of the death of Walter R. Clarke, Jr., Village President of North Barrington. He served as village president since 1983. Prior to that he was a village board trustee from 1975 to 1979 and was a member of the North Barrington Planning Commission from 1968 to 1975.

Mr. Clarke served as chairman of the Barrington Area Council of Governments in 1984 and 1992 and recently completed a term as president of the Lake County Municipal League. . . .

Wanda Croom, CMC/AAE, Deputy City Clerk of DeKalb, has been accepted as a member in the Academy for Advanced Education of the International Institute of Municipal Clerks. The academy is the professional body of municipal clerks who have continued their level of education beyond the attainment of the Certified Municipal Clerk Award.
