CHIEF OF POLICE
Kirkland, IL, population 1,100,65 miles west of Chicago, a growing progressive community is seeking a dynamic individual to fulfill the duties of Chief of Police. DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS/CITY ENGINEER

The City of Streator, located in north central Illinois, with 14,000 residents, seeks a qualified professional to provide basic engineering, oversee consultants, oversee contract service providers, and direct a public works department with 15 employees. Engineering work would include all contacts with the Illinois Department of Transportation and the LaSalle and Livingston County engineers. Must work with private utilities, including Commonwealth Edison, GTE, Northern Illinois Gas and Northern Illinois Water Corporation. Work would include review of site plans for developments. Operation of the waste treatment plant is currently contracted out, as is solid waste collection. The city is currently contracting out all engineering services. Streator is in the midst of major wastewater improvements being installed under an consent decree with the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency. City maintains streets, alleys, bridges, traffic signals, street lights, parks, swimming pool, golf course, administration building, fire station, police station, animal shelter, stormwater drainage, levy system, and sanitary sewers. Qualifications for this position include an undergraduate degree in civil engineering, ability to obtain registration in Illinois as a professional engineer, and three or more years experience with a government entity. Strong public relations skills are required. Experience with Illinois Department of Transportation and local roads advantageous. Salary $40,000+ depending upon qualifications.

VILLAGE CONSULTING ENGINEER

The Village of Franklin Park, located in western Cook County south of the O'Hare Airport, seeks to retain an engineering firm to perform engineering services as a consultant in support of its municipal utility systems, street system, public buildings and properties, as well as other municipal projects and operations. The successful proposal will come from a firm with experienced personnel in all aspects of engineering disciplines from which an identified principal engineer, licensed in Illinois, will serve as a liaison available to the Corporate Authorities and Department Heads.
