Dedication of the Conrad Will and Brownsville historical marker, October 26, 1974. Pictured (left to right) are Rose Bucciferro (Joliet), Bernice Wingerter (Murphysboro), and Vera Martin (Joliet). The fifteen-star flage held by the women represents the official national flag from 1775-1818. Conrad Will was one of the founders of Jackson County, donating land for the community of Brownsville in 1816. When he died in 1835, WIll County was named in his honor. Photograph by Tom Davis.
