Parks Day

Comes to the Capitol






On May 1, more than 50 agencies lined the Capitol Rotunda with exhibits showcasing the need to support Illinois park districts, forest preserves, conservation, recreation and special recreation agencies. Parks Day participants made appointments with their legislators to personally show them their agency's exhibit and to thank them for their support. Several agencies participated in on-camera interviews with the media to share the importance of supporting park, recreation and conservation initiatives in Illinois.
