SYCAMORE DEDICATES NEW MUNICIPAL BUILDING

View of the Building during dedication ceremonies

On Saturday, May 10th, the City of Sycamore dedicated its new municipal building. The ceremonies began with a luncheon, at which all of the past Mayors of the City of Sycamore were honored.

Attorney General Latham Castle was the principal speaker at the luncheon.

The luncheon was followed by a parade to the new municipal building- where brief ceremonies were held on the steps. Following the cutting of a ribbon, several hundred local citizens inspected the new municipal facilities. The building contains spacious and attractive offices for the Mayor, municipal clerk, treasurer and engineer. The police department is located in the basement, and the fire department is housed in the left wing of the building.

The City of Sycamore is to be congratulated on its new Municipal Building.

Among the city officials participating in the parade, were (left to right) standing, Senator Dennis Collins, DeKalb; Mayor Clayton Pooler, DeKalb; (in car) A. L. Sargent, Executive Director, Illinois Municipal League, and Mayor Charles E. Holmes, Genoa.
