RIVERDALE ORDINANCE CREATING THE
OFFICE OF DEPUTY CLERK

BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Riverdale, Cook County, Illinois, that:

Section 1: Pursuant to statute in such case made and provided there is hereby created the office of Deputy Clerk in and for the Village of Riverdale.

Section 2: The Village Clerk be and he is hereby authorized to appoint one Deputy Clerk who shall have the power and duty to execute all documents required by any law to be executed by the Village Clerk and affix the seal of the Village thereto whenever required, such Deputy Clerk to act at such times as hereinafter provided. In signing any documents, said Deputy Clerk shall sign the name of the Village Clerk followed with the word "By" and the Deputy Clerk's own name and the words "Deputy Clerk".

Section 3: The powers and duties herein described shall be exercised by such Deputy Clerk only in the absence of the Village Clerk from the Village Clerk's office in the Village Hall, Riverdale, Illinois, and only when either written direction has been given by the Village Clerk to such Deputy to exercise such power or this Village Board has determined by Resolution that the Village Clerk is temporarily or permanently incapacitated to perform such functions.

Section 4: Such Deputy Clerk shall have the authority and powers hereinabove described and such further power and authority as provided for by statute in such case made and provided and such further powers and authority as may hereinafter be granted pursuant to statute.

Section 5: That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby repealed.

Section 6: That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval as provided by law.

Notice of Appointment

As authorized by Village Ordinance passed July 29, 1958, I do hereby appoint you as Deputy Clerk for the Village of Riverdale and as provided by said ordinance and by the statutes in such case made and provided, I do hereby authorize you to execute all documents requiring my signature as Village Clerk and to affix the corporate seal of the Village thereto whenever required. Such power and authority are to be exercised only in the event of my absence from the Village Clerk's office or in the event that you are given authority to exercise such powers by Resolution of the Village Board. The appointment and authority hereby granted shall continue until such time as terminated by me in writing with a copy of such notice of termination to the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Riverdale.
