SCHOLARSHIP
The IPRS Scholarship & Recruitment Committee has chosen as its 1971 recipient, Robert E. Hale, of Oakland, Illinois. He was selected from a total of 45 applicants. Robert has been accepted at Eastern Illinois University where he plans to receive his Bachelor of Science degree in Recreation. Being from a rather small community of 950 population, Robert's interest and experiences have been outstanding. He has participated in many canoe trips along the Canadian, Minnesota, and Michigan borderlines. He has acted as camp counselor at both scout camps and church camps, taught swimming lessons, helped and participated in athletic programs in high school, and is working in a Day Care Center at the present time. He also attended the Northern Illinois University Environmental Workshop held last summer. The IPRS Scholarship Committee is happy to have been able to select a young man of such high scholastic abilities and sincere interest in the field of Park & Recreation Administration as winner of the 1971 IPRS Scholarship.
