IPRS SCHOLARSHIP DONATION

The Suburban Park and Recreation Association recently made a substantial contribution to the IPRS Scholarship fund. This money will help finance a student in a college or university in Illinois who will be working towards a degree in parks and/or recreation.

This year 45 applications were reviewed which is a record number for the $500 scholarship IPRS will award later this year.

Plans are being reviewed to increase the scholarship but in order to do this, outside help is needed.

Members who know of groups, organizations or foundations that might consider making such a contribution, should contact the state office.

At the present time Teresa Petry of Champaign and Jan Bergman of Oak Park are attending the University of Illinois on the scholarship.
