RECREATION COURSES OFFERED

The Department of Recreation and Park Administration, University of Illinois, through the Office of Recreation and Park Resources and in cooperation with the University of Illinois Division of Extension, plans to offer the second in a series of courses in the Chicago area this spring.

Recreation 401 — "Foundation of Recreation" taught by Dr. A. V. Sapora. Basic philosophical foundations of play, recreation, and the professional field.

Recreation 403 — "Investigation and Evaluation in Recreation" taught by Dr. Doyle W. Bishop. Instruction in some of the basic methods and techniques of conducting recreation research.

The plan is to offer the classes at the York Community High School, 355 W. St. Charles Road, Elmhurst, Illinois 60126. "Foundations of Recreation" (Recreation 401) will be offered on Wednesday nights, from 7:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m., beginning February 9, 1972. "Investigation and Evaluation in Recreation" (Recreation 403) will be offered on Monday nights, from 7:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m., beginning February 14, 1972. Each course will consist of sixteen sessions at a cost of $60 per course, subject to state legislation, which may increase fees slightly.

Degree candidates must meet regular University of Illinois requirements in the Graduate College and the Department of Recreation and Park Administration. Non-degree candidates must have a Bachelor's Degree to enroll in the graduate courses.

Enrollment in the courses next fall will be limited, and will be on a first, come, first serve basis. In order to assure yourself of a place in the class or classes of your choice, please contact Richard F. Registration should be made no later than January 15, 1972. The registration fee will be paid by you at your first class.
