THE PADDOCK SURGE WALL SYSTEM is, in simplest terms, a swimming pool wall hollowed into a chamber which is integrated to the IFRS pipeless perimeter system through surge control outlets. The multiple surge control outlets are placed at the back of the perimeter overflow channel. Under quiescence or during light loading, the channel functions as it does on any other swimming pool. As pool loading increases, the surge into the perimeter overflow channel increases and the water level rises. At a predetermined maximum channel level, water is removed from the channel by the surge control outlets. The water thus removed is stored in the pool wall until the level of activity in the pool diminishes and the water surging into the perimeter channel subsides. At this time, water being held in storage in the wall is returned to the pool through the filter system. Combined with the "in pool" surge capacity of the IFRS System, a 45' x 75' Surgewall pool offers up to 8000 gallons of storage capacity to maintain channel efficiency and prevent channel flooding.
