Gary Silkaitis has been named sports supervisor for the Evanston Recreation Department.

Silkaitis joined the Department in December of 1973, as assistant director of the Nichols Lighted School Center. During the past summer he assisted in the supervision of the Department's playground program.

The new sports supervisor graduated with honors from Southern Illinois University in 1970. In 1973 he completed the requirements for a master of science degree in community recreation at the same university. His professional background also includes serving as park maintenance supervisor for the St. Charles Park District and, during summers and school vacations, filling a wide range of leadership roles in the recreation field.

Machael Sterba recently accepted the position of Director of Parks & Recreation at the Colma Township Park District in Rock Falls, Illinois. He is a recent graduate of Eastern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Parks & Recreation Administration.

At Eastern he was Vice President of the Student Association for Recreation as well as the Representative to the Illinois Parks & Recreation Society Student Branch.

Mr. Sterba is presently working on two Federal Government Projects—the Blackhawk Hills Resource Conservation & Development (RC& D) project and the Northwest Council, which helps in sanctioning H.U.D. projects for the Northwestern part of Illinois.

Mrs. Ann McCall Zito has been selected to direct and teach a curriculum and field work program in Therapeutic Recreation within the Allied Health Department at the College of St. Francis of Joliet, Illinois. A Veteran's Administration grant to the college has made this new program possible.

Mrs. Zito was awarded a Masters degree in Therapeutic Recreation from the University of Illinois in 1974 and holds a Bachelor's degree in Recreation from the University of Iowa. Formerly, Mrs. Zito was Research Co-ordinator for the Homebound Program of the Chicago Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. She was a Recreation Therapist in the Department of Activity Therapy at the Illinois State Psychiatric Institute in Chicago from 1968 to 1972.
