whats up with STUDENTS

By Terry Fritzmann

The Annual IPRS State Conference was attended by students from various universities and colleges around the state. The Student Branch planned four of the educational sessions specifically for students and also conducted its annual business meeting at the conference.

The next Student Branch meeting will be held at Parkland College in Champaign on Saturday, January 11 at 1:30 p.m. This will be the first meeting that Parkland has ever hosted at their new campus. The institution, distinguished by its unique architectural design, is a two-year community college. Parkland's Recreation Club invites all IPRS members to attend the meeting and to visit their campus.

The business matters of this meeting will include a report on the progress of the $500 scholarship fund provided by IPRS. Currently, the Student Branch is working on discovering appropriate means of distributing the scholarship monies.

Also, at this meeting, Dennis Hayes (WIU), President-Elect, will report on the financial success of our current money-maker, retractable ball-point pens with the Student Branch name and slogan, "I'm ready to Recreate," on them.

The second annual Student Conference, to be held in February, will focus primarily on awareness of job opportunities and how to go about looking for a job. For exact details as to time and place of this conference, contact the Student Branch officers or representatives at your school.
