A 1971 purvey of 336 local government officials indicates that county boards, soil and water conservation districts, planning commissions, park and school districts, and extension offices are most active in community development planning.

• "The Illinois Economy: A Microcosm of the United States?", by Robert N. Schoepiein with Hugh T. Connelly (Urbana: Institute of Government and Public Affairs, University of Illinois, 1975), 41 pp. Single copies available free of charge from the Institute, 1201 W. Nevada St., Urbana 61801.

Parallels between the state and national economies with respect to labor force occupations, gross product composition and manufacturing sector output are outlined.

• "Program Evaluation in Illinois State Government; A Survey Report," by Eugene R. Kersey. Public Affairs Papers No. 4, Public Sector Program Evaluation Center, Sangamon State University, Springfield (May 1975). 52 pp.. $3.

Opinions from 104 administrators and staff members in 34 state agencies about the status of program evaluation are presented.

The history, structure and personnel are presented. Misdemeanors are given extensive treatment. The Standards of Judicial Conduct and a glossary of legal terms are included.

•"Annual Report," Illinois Energy Resources Commission, to the General Assembly (March 1976), 112 pp.

Includes guidelines for commission review and evaluation of Coal Bond Development Act projects. Also summarizes approved and proposed coal development projects.

An examination of the development and present status of divorce laws with proposed changes.

• "Public Employee Pension Funds/ Impact on State and Local Credits," issued by John Nuveen & Co., Inc., Chicago, 1976, 21 pp.

Intended primarily for the guidance of bond analysts engaged in credit rating of state and local governments. This analysis also provides yardsticks useful to public employees in rating the soundness of their pension systems. Includes data on Illinois and selected states, Chicago and selected cities.

Items listed under State Documents have been received by the Documents Unit, Illinois State Library, Springfield, and are usually available from public libraries in the state through interlibrary loan. Requests for copies should be sent to the issuing agency.
