The Illinois Association of Park Districts participated in Mayors and Local Officials Day at the 1976 Illinois State Fair sponsored by the Department of Local Government Affairs. Hundreds of local officials converged on Springfield to meet with Governor Dan Walker and other State officials. The day proved quite successful in that we were given the opportunity to meet and talk to officials about parks and recreation.
