Films Made In Chicago Parks

Chicago's parks continued to be a popular place for the production of feature films, television commercials and print advertising campaigns.

One-hundred-fifty film permits were issued during 1977, yielding $6290 in fees. With a new fee schedule going into effect on Jan. 1, revenues for 1978 are expected to increase. Lincoln Park continued to be the most popular area for motion picture and still photography.

The Lincoln and Garfield Park Conservatories are popular locations for film crews seeking summer foliage during the winter. Other popular park locations include Lake Michigan beaches and harbors, Grant Park including Buckingham Fountain, Soldier Field, and the district's golf courses.
