PEOPLE N' PLACES

DAVID L. DAVIS, has recently joined the Grants Management Section of the Illinois Department of Conservation's Bureau of Lands and Historic Sites in Springfield. He will serve as the Assistant Grants-in-Aid Program Manager for the Heritage Conservation and Recreation Service's Historic Preservation Grants-in-Aid program. Prior to this position, Dave was Mens' and Boys' Athletic Supervisor for the Springfield Recreation Department. When he first started working for Springfield Recreation Department, he was supervisor for Co-Recreation Sports, Community Programs, and Special Events.

Dave received his B.S. degree in Leisure Studies at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign. Previous agencies that he has worked with include Campus Recreation at the University of Illinois, Park Forest Recreation Department, Champaign Park District, and the Dundee Township Park District.

RALPH J. TOSI has accepted a position as Recreation Supervisor for Munster Parks and Recreation Department in Munster, Indiana. Ralph completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Recreation and Park Administration at Illinois State University. Ralph also holds an Associate of Arts degree from Rend Lake Junior College.

Ralph is a member of the National Recreation and Park Association, Illinois Parks and Recreation Association, and Indiana Parks and Recreation Association. A native of Collinsville, Illinois, Ralph while in college, previously worked at Western Avenue Community Center in Bloomington, Illinois, Bloomington Parks and Recreation Department, and Rend Lake Junior College.

GENE SANKS has been appointed Superintendent of Operations for the Urbana (IL) Park District. As Superintendent, he is in charge of the maintenance and capital improvement programs for all Urbana parks and recreation facilities.

A native of Equality, Illinois, Mr. Sanks received B.S. and M.S. degrees in Ornamental Horticulture from the University of Illinois. Before joining the Urbana Park District staff, Mr. Sanks was employed by the Richmond, Virginia Department of Parks and Recreation as a Park Superintendent.

APRIL YOUNG, a senior planner with Harland Bartholomew and Associates, was recently re-elected as a member of the Executive Committee of the National Parks & Conservation Association. Ms. Young has been

Director of Open Space and Historic Studies for Harland Bartholomew and Associates since December, 1977. She is nationally known for her writings and work in environmental planning. She is on the Board of Governors of the American Institute of Planners and on the Board of Directors of the Open Space Council of Greater St. Louis.

The Niles Park District announces the appointment of KAREN CORRELL to the position Recreation Program Supervisor. Mrs. Conell received her degree in Recreation Administration at Eastern Illinois University in 1976. She did an independent study internship at the Champaign Park District. Previously Mrs. Correll was Recreation Supervisor for the Glenview Park District for the last two years.
