200 park, forest preserve and conservation district commissioners and administrators were in attendance at the 1st Annual IAPD Legislative Conference. Secretary of State Alan J. Dixon opened the conference with a strong support message for parks and recreation.

Delegates were treated to a program of training and contact in the legislative process. A special evening reception was held for the 81st General Assembly. Approximately 65% of the legislators were in attendance.
