Cross Country Skiing in Illinois
Contrary perhaps to popular belief, there are numerous opportunities for skiing, particularly of the cross-country variety, available in Illinois. The following is a list of various cross-country skiing areas operated under the auspices of the Illinois Department of Conservation. Concentrated in the northern and northwestern portions of the state, the areas vary considerably in degree of length, degree of difficulty, and available camping facilities.
