The Dolton Park District has received $35,000 of Federal Revenue Sharing from the Village of Dolton. The funds will be used for a building addition, remodeling, and the air conditioning of the Park's Main Fieldhouse. The building houses the Senior Citizens, meeting facility for Community Organizations, and Park District recreation programs. Bids were to be opened August 12 with construction to be completed by October. The remodeled facility will have a capacity of over 300 for various events and luncheons.

The Illinois Park and Recreation Association is sponsoring "Understanding and Managing Stress," September 24, 1980 at Arlington Heights Golf Club, Arlington Heights, Illinois. The focus of the workshop led by Jerry Robinson, Ph.D. a social psychologist at the University of Illinois, is to facilitate participant development of behavior skills useful for managing stress in home and work environments. Registration information is available through the IPRA Office.

Illinois Department of Revenue figures show total Park District tax increases (4.8%) are less than the average for all statewide districts (7.7%). The recently released 1978 figures (for 1977 tax year) show Park Districts a strong 4th in total taxes extended by all local taxing bodies. Schools still rank first, cities, towns, and villages second, and counties third.
