NEW MEMBERSHIP SERVICES DIRECTOR

IPRA welcomes Lydia Lombardo who joined the staff as Membership Services Director on March 16. The new full-time director will coordinate public relations and media contact for IPRA activities and events. In addition, she will develop new membership services, working closely with the Membership Committee to gain new members and to encourage re-association of former members.

Lombardo will also serve as staff person for the Joint IPRA-IAPD Public Awareness Committee and will oversee production of UPDATE, SECTION HIGHLITES, and other printed material initiated at IPRA's Palatine office.

Lombardo's former experience includes two years as Glenview Park District's Public Relations Director, a year with Oakton Community College's Public Information Department and several years as administrative assistant with a trade association. She holds a degree in Communications/Public Relations from Mundelein College, Chicago.

The new director, who lives in Des Plaines with her children and husband, Vincent, says she is excited about the challenge of creating a new job. She looks forward to working with IPRA committee members and welcomes all contributions to the association's newsletters.

A NEW FOREST

Stacy Ann Forest arrived February 26, several days before the Executive Director's maternity leave was scheduled to begin. Director Kay Forest and husband, Al, are enjoying the new little Forest who weighed in at 5 lbs., 11 oz. The new mother is doing fine and expects to return to the IPRA office in June. Meanwhile, as pre-arranged, some responsibilities and duties are being carried out at home and occasionally at the office. Until then, Kay and Al Forest wish to thank all their IPRA friends who sent notes and cards welcoming their new daughter.
